A nice couple that lives in the building next to where our church rents is having a baby in a couple weeks. She has tried several times and lost her baby each time. This time, God willing, she is about to carry full term and will deliver around the 25th of May. So, to show her love and support the women of our fellowship are throwing her a shower in celebration of the arrival of her baby girl…..next Sunday.
I have made a pair of felted baby booties (a picture of those will show up in a later post after I have felted them) and pair of baby tube socks. I am currently feverishly finishing the baby bonnet that goes with the socks.
I should be knitting instead of blogging girls.
The yarn is nothing special – Bernet Baby Jacquard but I LOVE what it does!
Because my tube socks were so small the yarn pattern never showed up (the flowery part) just the lovely different stripes of pink. But on the bonnet rim you can see that the pattern worked its magic just perfectly!!! I was a little nervouse and praying that I had picked up the yarn in just the right place to make it happen and it did! I love it when something comes together and works!
This is a closer look at the bonnet rim so you can see that it the pattern sits perfectly where I wanted it to.
Now, I just have to get off this computer, clean my house quickly and get to working on this bonnet. I will post pictures when it is done along with the tube socks and the booties which I hope to felt in my Wonder Washer sometime tomorrow. (I think Saturday is quickly getting away from me here.)
It is also May and time to hang my hummingbird feeder out to call to my pretty green hummingbirds to come and feast! I can hardly wait to see what my new feline girls will think of this when they view them from their window perch!
