I get ticked off at GOGGLE every year when HUGE anniversaries of battles from WW2 come along and they totally ignore honoring the men (and women, yes – women were in service in WW2 as well) who lost their lives in war.
Oh dear, I just said that nasty word…….war. I am sorry, run by liberals or not, can’t GOOGLE honor the memories of those people today instead of the anniversary of the first Drive-In movie????? The men and women who served in WW2 did not create the monster in Germany that threatened the WORLD with his power and might. They did not send the planes and boats that dropped bombs on Pearl Harbor in an effort to invade our nation and cripple us. They instead met the call and did the honorable thing. They were young. They were afraid BUT they did something! Something BIG! They gave their lives on those beaches in Normandy.
If I thought me sending an email to GOOGLE would do any good, I would do it. It just drives me crazy how it is almost shameful to admit that your country was involved in war. Current events unfortunately are shaping the warped thinking of people and the result is totally ignoring this anniversary and having the NERVE to honor the first drive-in movie!!!!!
You already know from my prior posts that my Dad was with the 101st Airborne – 463rd Parachute Field Artillery. Here is General Eisenhower talking to the 101st Airborne – the famous “Band of Brothers” . My Dad was not with 101st at the time of D-Day, his famous and HUGE battle came later – The Battle of the Bulge in December 1944. The Band of Brothers fought at D-Day then later went on to several other major battles and that is when my Dad joined up with them and together they finished out the war.
I am not afraid to honor those who served in war times. All war times! Now is not the time to ignore those who serve and protect us just because you are against war – you listening GOOGLE?
Thanks for listening!
Road trip starts tomorrow!!!
