It promises to be a wonderful and somewhat hot summer weekend. I got up early to get a beat on the heat and get my housework done. My oldest daughter Jessica is going to a college friend’s wedding at the end of this month and she is putting together this lovely little kitchen type present with lots of kitchen things in a basket.
She made recipe cards from my scrapbooking supplies, and she asked me to make my famous crocheted scrubby and the ever popular easy garter square dishcloth. I must have made a hundred of those scrubbys and dishcloth one year for a Christmas present for everyone who had a kitchen counter and sink!!!! lol
After getting my housework done, I sat quietly in the coolest part of the house and made the scrubby and dishcloth in a little under two hours. It was refreshing, but I was determined not to make a big production about this because I have socks that need knitting!!!!
The beginings of the scrubby. In the left corner you see the workings of the dish cloth.
Now, watch how the scrubby unfolds into this most darling thing!
And there you have it! Ta da! It is a fun little mindless thing to do, but like I said – I am hot to trot about socks and I wanted this done and out of the way! lol She has ANOTHER wedding that she wants me to do the same thing – I will worry about that later!!! That is in late September.
Off to do a little shopping in the city and have my Joanne’s and AC Moore 50% in hand. I keep telling myself that I don’t need anything after I spent so much money on my Addi turbo needles…… a knitter NEVER says “I don’t need anything!”
