This blog is named for the two hedgehogs I own, and yet, it seems I always feature my Russian Blue girls Misha and Raina. Thought this entry should be my usual WIP Wednesday PLUS some hedgehog “stuff”.
The business at hand first – WIP. While in Michigan my co-worker went to a fiber fest near her home. I knew I was going to miss it and I was terribly upset. She found two things for me and instead of buying them and giving them to me as a present – she was so excited she could hardly wait for me to return to give them to me! That was sooooo sweet!
Aren’t they just the cutest things you have ever seen? I squeeled and then squeeled again then gave her a big hug! I added these thing to my quickly growing hedgehog collection.
In my sewing room is this shelf that is filled with 1/8th of my total collection.
(Ignore the goat on the shelf – he goes back to when we were married 25 years ago and I just never found him a different home! lol)
There is my hedgehog portion of my entry for today.
My WIP is next. After Lisa was so sweet to get me that hedgehog stuff I decided to make her soon to be one year old baby girl Lily some socks/slippers. I got this book out of the library:
and this is the project I am making for Lily:
I don’t think the wool she used for the “quills” of the hedgehog really express the true nature of the hedgehog. I am replacing the pom-pom wool with a mixture of Paton classic wool and fun fur that will stick up like quills. Also, my hedgehogs are not dark, so I found wool closer to their true color. I am making great progress and will have them done this weekend. They are to be felted when I am all done, so don’t be alarmed because they look so big!
They went so quickly that I might make something else as well. She spent a lot of money on me at the fiber fest and she is a single mom.
HOT. HOT. HOT. Guess the whole country is in a heat wave. Knitting in my cooled livingroom sounds like a good idea tonight. No air conditioning, just good old fashioned fans and pulled shades to keep the sun out! (Which is such a shame because in the winter I BEG for sunshine!)
