Spent the weekend with my folks – my Dad’s birthday was yesterday and he turned 87. It was good to be home with them, but it was also good to come back to my home. The weather was perfect and I was able to help my folks.
I am trying to finish up little projects I have going. I also checked my paperwork and see the deadline to enter the State Fair is July 9th. I have four things I am going to enter, and before I take them in I will do a blog entry on them with photos. I am getting a late start on this last project: Dumpling Bag by Sharon Dreifuss.
THIS IS NOT MY BAG – THIS IS THE PHOTO FROM THE PATTERN!!!!
This is my bag:
I just started it last night. It is going to be a quick knit, and depending on how it looks I will make a decision on the emblishment I am going to do on the outside. It is felted, so I won’t know until that whole process is done…….. I love felting. It can hide mistakes and it can be molded and shaped etc. after the process is done and before it dries.
After my darling Raina got out on me last week, we purchased collars and tags with their names and our phone number on it. At least if they get out again someone who finds them can let us know they have them! ( I guess there is ONE good reason to like winter – not so much going in and out the door like in the summer months so the chance of them getting out is greatly reduced!) After the initial shock of having something around their necks that jingle, they have adjusted well to the collars. Whew!
After I get these State Fair projects done and entered, I would like to practice learning how to knit cables (either “real ones” or the “fake ones” – lol) and then try a pair of socks with cables. If you can recommend an easy sock pattern with a simple cable let me know.
