I know, I should have stayed home and worked all day Saturday and Sunday on my entries. I didn’t. My husband’s road job took him within a few miles of my Mom and Dad’s home, so I asked him to drop me off so I could spend the day with them and he would pick me up on his way home. My folks live about 90 miles from us.
We have been in a terrible dry spell as well as hot HOT temperatures (which I see just about EVERYONE is experiencing!) . Just as he pulled up to my Mom’s house the clouds started to form in the most peculiar way! Like waves on the ocean. I don’t know if this picture will do it justice, but these ended up dumping a quick shower of rain with boomers and flashes!
That is a huge field of cabbage! Geneva, NY is famous for its cabbage fields!
Spent the whole day at my Mom’s helping her with things she needed to get done and then going up to the nursing home and spending the rest of the day sitting with my Dad. He slept a lot, but it still meant something to him, I could tell. I was a little upset at the conditions of the nursing home, his room, the lack of staff etc. I totally was giving myself a horrible mental lashing for being the one that helped make the hard decision to put him in the nursing home. You say you will NEVER put your parents in a nursing home, but I want to warn you……………you have no idea what the circumstances will be when it is time to make that decision, so… never say never.
Didn’t get home till after 7pm so needless to say I didn’t get any work done on my entries.
On Sunday we went off to church, and on our way home we wanted to cook hot dogs and corn for Sunday supper, so we stoped at a roadside veggie stand. Just thought it looked so cute!
Our corn here in NY is not quite ready – it would be if we were getting rain, but their growth is slowed because of the lack of it.
Thought the sky was just so blue in this shot!
We headed home and Scott did paperwork and I worked on my entries. I am making slow put sure progress. I think my worst struggle by far will be the hedgehog finger puppets. It is hard to make something out of something it was not originally suppose to be!
Photos to come shortly!
