Here the heck have I been? Even I can’t give an answer!!
Turning in my fair entries on 8/11. Pictures after that.
My oldest daughter is in AZ, and honestly, my husband and I are having a nice time just the two of us. You never want your children to leave home, but it is part of the cycle of life in a family unit and so, we are enjoying our time together alone. It seems you never have enough alone time with your other half when there are children romping around the house under feet does it? We are having complete conversations, (uninterupted by other people’s opinions), we have turned the volume up on the TV and I finally am able to hear everything everyone is saying! We are eating food we love, including coffee ice cream!
I am working on my Thanksgiving dish cloths.
Here is the leaf.
The sunlight on the deck makes the cotton yarn look rosey and pastel colored – it is not. It has a very autumnal look to it. This is finished now and I am making one in natural color with a steaming turkey on it!!!! Makes me hungry! lol I am having a lot of fun making these and doing something for someone else!
You won’t see much of me next week. Our church is doing Vacation Bible for the whole week for the neighborhood kids from 6-8pm (we all work so we have to do it at night). I am in charge of the snack station/kitchen. We have done this for over 15 years – we are pros at this stuff!
The first night snack is a based on the story of Lazarus and Jesus raising him from the dead. The snack for that night (use your imagination now……) is a pretzel rod and strips of a soft taco shell for the kids to “wrap around” the pretzel and then some warmed up cheeze dip on a plate. I always have watermelon and popcorn for the kids who hate the snack of the day ( and you know there are always some of those!!!!). I will try to keep you posted as much as I can. It is always a fun but exhaustive time. The weather is forecast to be in the 90’s the whole week – the building is not air conditioned.
