Layed in bed at 6am thinking about how I was going to figure out the thumb part of my mitten. It is a day off for me and I NEVER am able to sleep in. My brain starts to wake up around 5am and then there is no going back.
Decided to get up and hook into the internet to get the answer to my thumb dilema. God bless the internet and the people who love to share their wealth of information! Tada! The thumb and gusset is created and I am flying on this project!
I just picked up some Vanna Lion Brand bulky acrylic for $1.99 at AC Moore to give this whole mitten thing a try. I love the yarn and I am loving this pattern! That would mean, if all works out, these mittens will cost about $4 a pair! Sweet!
Feeling guilty sitting for too long working on my mitten, (I am cursed that way) and so I am working on my to-do list of things I want to accomplish in this day BEFORE I will allow myself knitting time. (Yes, I am a mean task master to myself!)
So far on my list:
clean kitchen top to bottom(windows and floors and everything in between!)
vac. the dinningroom and steps that go upstairs
possibly do the curtains and windows in the livingroom…….
MAKE CHOC CHIP COOKIES!
Now, on that subject (choc. chip cookies) – I always make the traditional Toll House, but am always disappointed in the way they spread and get flat. Someone tell me how YOU deal with that problem (unless it is not a problem for you). I found a recipe that uses half butter and half butter flavored crisco. I am thinking I am going to try that.
Have a great day everyone!
